What information is collected

Through this website, information is collected in three ways:

Information you provide directly. If you complete the contact form, I collect your name, email address, organisation (optional), and the content of your message. If you email me directly, I hold that correspondence.

Information collected automatically. The website is hosted on Squarespace, which collects standard technical data about visitors: IP address, device type, browser, referring page, and pages viewed. This is used for basic website analytics and security.

Information provided during engagements. If you become a client or engage AmEliz in any advisory or mentoring capacity, additional information will be collected as needed to deliver the work. Any such collection will be covered by a separate engagement letter.

Why the information is used

Information is used for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries you have made

  • To conduct professional engagements you have commissioned

  • To maintain proper business records (including for tax, accounting and regulatory purposes)

  • To improve the website and understand how visitors use it

  • To comply with legal obligations

Your information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, personal data must be processed under one of six lawful bases. The bases used by AmEliz are:

  • Consent — when you submit the contact form or subscribe to any future mailing list.

  • Contract — when you engage AmEliz for professional services, information is processed to deliver the contract.

  • Legitimate interests — for ordinary business operations such as responding to enquiries and maintaining basic website functionality.

  • Legal obligation — for information that must be retained for tax, accounting, or regulatory compliance.

Who information is shared with

Personal information is shared only where necessary and only with parties who have appropriate protections in place:

  • Microsoft 365 (email and document storage) — see microsoft.com/privacy

  • My accountant — for tax and accounting purposes

  • HMRC and other regulatory bodies — where required by law

Information is not shared with any other third party without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

How long information is kept

  • Website enquiries not resulting in engagement — kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.

  • Client engagement records — kept for 7 years after the engagement ends, in line with UK tax and professional record-keeping requirements.

  • Website analytics data — kept in line with Squarespace's retention policies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data held about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
